Last year's Feed6 event

Last year’s Feed6 event

On Saturday, December 15th, Oak Lawn-Hometown Middle School will be hosting its 6th annual Feed 6 Meal Packaging Event. Students, teachers, and the District 123 community will come together to package fortified meals to be delivered to local food pantries. The four-hour event will take place in the OLHMS gymnasium participants can sign up for 2-hour sessions from either 9 am to11 am or 11:30 am to 1 pm.

“What I love most about the meal packaging event is watching community members from all different backgrounds coming together and working side by side to help others. Last year we had volunteers from age 6 to 86 working to support their community. It truly is a feel-good event,” said Event Coordinator, Heather McCarthy.

All participants must raise a minimum of $30 to help cover the costs of the food, materials, and delivery. After the event, sponsors will sign community service paperwork for any participants.

All of the packaged meals will be delivered to local food pantries, food banks, Veteran shelters, and various organizations in need of donations. If you have an organization you would like added to our donation list, please contact Mrs. Heather McCarthy at hmccarthy@d123.org.
