In honor of Earth Day this year Hannum kindergarten students wanted to do something to make the world a better, cleaner place. After learning what it means to reduce, reuse and recycle the students took to the school grounds to reduce waste.
“Taking the students out of the classroom and showing them how they can make a difference no matter how small they are is an important lesson to teach them. Plus it’s a great way to enjoy the day and do something good,” said Victoria Connor, a Kindergarten teacher.
Armed with bags, each student ran around outside finding trash to pick up and clean up the front, playground and other areas of the school.
